Catherine returned to Fond du Lac to complete her studies, earning her BS in Nursing Education from Marian College in 1954. Throughout her life, Sister Mary was committed to ongoing professional development in elementary and religious education as well as in pastoral ministry. Her education began in a one-room schoolhouse in Marblehead and continued at St. Josephs 9th Grade and St. Marys Springs Academy, both in Fond du Lac. St. Louis, MO 63125. She was raised in a family of six, including two boys and four girls. In 1981-82 she served as principal at Sacred Heart School, Fond du Lac. Taking on a new role from 1991-1995, Sister Mary Alice was appointed by CSA leadership to serve as local coordinator for the elderly and infirm sisters residing at Nazareth Heights in Fond du Lac. Her years in the field of education completed, she did pastoral ministry to the elderly and infirm, AIDS ministry, pastoral care and hospital chaplaincy in a variety of settings in Kansas and Wisconsin.
