On January 16, the Ministry of Finance of Poland held a press conference on the implementation of the KSeF National e-Invoice System, which is is a tool for issuing, sending, receiving, and storing structured invoices.

The obligation to issue invoices in the KSeF will be introduced in stages:

– from February 1, 2026, it will apply to taxpayers whose sales value, including tax, exceeded PLN 200 million (EUR 46,000) in 2024. Starting from this date, all entities will receive invoices in the KSeF system;

– from April 1, 2026, it will apply to other businesses.

Until the end of 2026, taxpayers whose transactions documented by invoices do not exceed a total gross monthly sales value of PLN 10,000 (EUR 2,300) will be exempt from the obligation to issue invoices in the KSeF.

The implementation of KSeF is a step towards the digitalization of invoicing and accounting processes, reducing the risk of errors when issuing invoices. “The system ensures the security of business transactions and data, accounting automation, and error elimination. It guarantees access to invoices for 10 years without the need for separate storage,” Minister of Finance Marcin Łoboda expained.

It made a call for the entrepreneurs to already start preparing their businesses for the new system.
